Lakewood is a unique historic Jacksonville neighborhood just south of San Marco along the St. Johns River. Mostly a residential area with historic homes and many from the early 1950’s, Lakewood does have a quaint shopping corridor and a few larger shopping centers with wonderful dining and antique shopping options.

From mid-rise condos to historic homes, Lakewood is a quiet neighborhood that has something for everyone in every price range. It is a quick commute to vibrant downtown that is experiencing a true rebirth as well as the bustling Mandarin area just to the south.

San Marco and Lakewood Home Search

The Local
One of the newest additions to the Lakewood neighborhood, and it’s prime location where San Jose Blvd. and Hendricks Ave. merge back together, The Local is the perfect spot for commuters to stop in for a great cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich. It is also an easy stroll for local neighbors in the Mirimar area to enjoy fresh lunch and dinner and cocktails.

YaYa Sweets
You have to pay a visit to YaYa when you are in the Lakewood area! The greek pastries are to die for and the company is even better. Whether you need a custom cake or just need a few pieces of delicious Baklava YaYa Sweets is the best!

The Antique Market of San Jose/The Consignment Barn
Lakewood has so much to offer from seafood markets to bakeries and everything in between. Oe of the staples of the Lakewood neighborhood is The Antique Market of San Jose and The Consignment Barn. You can easily spend a good half day or more wandering through both buildings finding treasures you never knew you wanted! At least once a month they hose a phenomenal street market with vendors from all over the city offering great deals on all types of furniture and art.
